Since the OP mentioned:

A lot of RAM and perhaps a SSD for data might be useful. I guess it
doesn't matter that much, how long it takes to boot and to open Firefox,
LibreOffice or even to load the one or other library on demand.
Reloading/using high amounts of data should be done from RAM and if
needed from a SSD.
