ubuntu 17.04: cut and paste middle mouse not working?

I do have 17.04, and it works fine here.

There are also small applications like clipit that lives in your systray
and syncs the two so you can copy/paste however you like consistently.
It also offers a few other nice features, like a history of the last few
selections etc.
