USB-VGA suggestions?

Ubuntu fully supports kickstart since (i think it was...) 6.06 ...

That said, ubuntus kickstart is a translation layer, you can also
natively use preseeding:

But indeed neither will help if the OPs main desire is to set BIOS
options... (though typically you only set BIOS options once, that will
only take a few minutes even when plugging a VGA monitor around)
