Thank you, now I understand.

No thanks. I want to stay with openbox and apart from this the
configuration isn't completely clear after taking a brief look at
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/wayland#Configuration
and I don't know how to change things during a session, so it would
require to learn something new, without any benefit, but possible
disadvantages. I like the global xorg.conf and xrandr, xset to cahnge
things during a session. I would take a look at Wayland, only if it
would allow better font rendering. IMO font rendering under X is
disgusting. I could stand it with my CRT and with another LCD were I
could blurry the image, but with my current LCD I can't blurry the
image and get the full intensity of Linux's weak font rendering. OOTB
my iPad 2 provides far better font rendering, than my Linux installs do
after spending an exorbitant amount of time with optimizing font
rendering by all kinds of settings. What I didn't try is the quasi
successor of the discontinued infinality, have forgotten the name, but
IIRC it at least is installed on my Arch Linux, but with an inactive
config.
