I had the same problem. My girlfriend needed to print a small book for her
family and her printer quit working so I took my printer to her house and
connected it to her LAN.
Since I had been trying to delete two remote printers without any luck I tried
it at her place. Connected to her LAN (of course my server with the printers
were not on her LAN) the printers deleted without any problems! So I would
guess that just removing your computer from your LAN and rebooting you will be
able to delete the printers.
