Mate 16.04 not kicking in after install on ubuntu 16.04

Sorry English not being my mother tongue makes difficult to express 
correct meanings.

So I did as suggested "Installing mate-desktop-environment" and now 
after logging out I was given a choice.

Good day and thanks to all taking time to respond to some not so good 
explanations from me.
