ubuntu no default or ui configuation found

What I do -- and note, this is not tested on UEFI, I only have BIOSes -- is:

[1] Boot off the key
[2] At the boot menu, edit the boot command line
[3] Delete the installer image entry and replace it with
``root=/dev/sda1'' or whatever my actual root directory is
[4] Boot the system with that
[5] Then open a terminal and do ``grub-install /dev/sda'' (or whatever
the relevant entry is)
