This is good advice. Listen to it.
Systemd is fine, it works, it does what it says it does.
If you don't like it, choose a distro that doesn't have it. Do not try
to remove it from a distro built around it. You will end up with
something nonstandard, incompatible, and quite possibly broken in
important ways.
And when you try to find a major server distro _without_ systemd then
you will understand why I tell you to just get on with using it.
