If you removed all nvidia related packages and the run

  sudo apt --no-install-recommends install /var/cache/apt/archives/nvidia-304*131*deb

it's impossible that
nvidia-current-updates_304.131-0ubuntu0.14.04.2_amd64.deb is required.

Take a look at the newer 132 package

  http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/nvidia-304

the dependencies for 131 unlikely require nvidia-current-updates either.

Start posting all steps you are doing, command and the output of the
command, by real, complete quotes.

Aren't you using the tab keys? To complete a path or name use the tab
key.
