The best thing about a Live USB is that you've got the 'net and a
browser. Do not click anything until you know what it does. ;-)
Someone above mentioned not seeing a repair option. I am nearly positive
that it's there. I did an oops with one system on 15.10 and it would
have taken a while to fix it by hand. I just did a repair installation
which kept my home folder intact. I want to say that it kept my PPAs but
that it disabled them. I can spin up a VM and test it all if it's really
important. One thing I have is time and computer gear.
But, if you've got *any* doubts, crack open the browser (during the Live
session), and head to your favorite search engine. I swear, that's
probably my favorite feature.
