New laptop - weird key repeat issue

Unfortunately I don't have a clue how to solve this issue, but at least
we know that most likely

- the laptop's keyboard isn't broken, but
- it anyway seemingly is related to the hardware and the used X
  environment

For testing purpose I would add a new user and check if the issue still
appears for the new user.

Assumed it should still appear for the new user, I would test another
WM and/or DE.
