now I'm also getting, after getting into Unity, "Sorry, Ubuntu 16.04 has

Problem details include (typing what I see from another computer, sorry. 
Where is this stuff logged??):

/usr/lib/unity/settings-daemon/unity-settings-daemon  (crashed with 
sigsegv
