Is it possible to create a file allowing to listen to a web radio station via VLC or Clementine?

Not holding up Rhythmbox as a competitor - RadioTray sounds cool.

Just noting that Rhythmbox is integrated out of the box with the Unity
volume control - you can open Rhythmbox there, and once something is
playing you can pause it, stop it etc.
