I'm not exactly a guru, so I'd start by posting to the cups list. But
I've never heard of a paxama. Are you sure you didn't mean pixma?
Thats about as far as I can go because I tend to stick to makes that are
either covered by cups, or supply drivers that linux can generally use.
And after my last experience with an epson inkjet that clogged its head
2 weeks after I unpacked it, and no help from epson, they are off the
menu.
My best results over the last 4 years has been with the brother color
laser, but its down for the count until I can get the bench in the
garage cleaned off and find out why a recent power failure caused all 4
drums to go bad, at about 25% used of their rated life. I think the
corona wire hi voltage is low, its been a constant clean the corona wire
thing since it was new, but the brother techs I've talked to on the
phone refuse to entertain that possibility because that would still be
in warranty. They wouldn't have to warranty a $200 drum, and they want
me to buy 4 of them at $800? 'scuse me, but I can buy the whole printer
for $299 the last time I was in Staples.
But I didn't bother to try and impress the frogs at brother-usa by
telling them that I am a Certified Electronics Technician, (registration
NEB-118) so once I've gotten it on the bench I WILL find out. But first
I have to get that 70 lbs beast from the floor in here, to the bench in
the garage, which with an 81 yo back with crushed disks in it, isn't
trivial.

I like that. :)
