Ralf, you would irritate people less if you didn't make such blunt

In my case it was NOT the mouse.

It may not be in Brett's case either, though it does seem most likely.
Hence my suggestion that he test the same system with another mouse, and
the apparently defective mouse on other systems.

This may be inconclusive if the problem is intermittent, but I got the
impression it was pretty much full-time - which also suggests that the
mouse it at fault.
