Title bar/menu problem on 14.04

OK, I did what you suggest. The pointer changes to a hand almost 
instantaneously, certainly seems like I get to 2.  Based on what Oli 
said about me seeing menus below the titlebar on the terminal and gedit 
I think something is wrong with my set up. I have been going and setting 
all the settings I can find to default but so far have not seen any 
difference.

I said that but in a later post corrected myself. I guess when I first 
tested it I did not spend enough time with it as later I saw the same 
problem there also.
