It is not an "Ubuntu problem", if Ubuntu shouldn't provide dependencies
that are required for third party packages.
It's not about "free" or "not free". Ubuntu provides packages by
official repositories. If a dependency for a package provided by
official repositories should be missing, than it would be an issue
related to Ubuntu. However, you are using a third party package, so the
third party support is responsible for this issue.
