The package comes from the HQPlayer website, http://www.signalyst.com/
I tried dpkg -i hqplayer_3.14.4-54_amd64.deb, which gave the errors I
quoted, but I also tried gdebi which also complained about
qtdeclarative5-controls-plugin

My point was to ask if anyone knew what the significance of the changes
was. Clearly some packages that were available in 16.04 LTS have been
removed. Does anyone know if it's a bug - i.e. perhaps they were left out
accidentally, or whether there is a good reason for their removal. If their
functionality is now provided by another package, I could pass that
information on to the developer of HQPlayer.
