I'm not the OP but here is what I don't like about ubuntu. The window 
buttons are on the left and I am used to them being on the right. We 
used to be able to move them to the right but now we can't. The menus 
are either in the menubar (top panel) or the windows title bar. Both of 
them are bad choices as far as I am concerned.

If they are in the menubar and I am working at the bottom of the scree I 
must mouse up to the top to use a menu.  If they are in the window's 
title bar I must be sure I give a rapid click of the mouse or the menu 
does not drop down.

I have only had 16.04 on my laptop for a short time and have not had a 
lot of time to check it out, but both of those short comings seem to be 
present in 16.04.

I also have Mint with both Cinnamon & Mate install. I think I prefer 
Cinnamon, but I have to research how well they handle dual monitors 
before I would consider switching.
