How to search for a forgotten password used for the POP and SMTP servers

If you are talking about in Thunderbird then go to options or 
preferences in the thunderbird menu. Then select the Security 
section/tab. You can then look at your logins and passwords.

If you have a Master password in thunderbird and forgot that then do this:
