I'm using Evolution and Claws.

Evolution IMO has got the better search abilities, than Claws has got
and Evolution provides a filter for outgoing messages, but apart from
that Claws IMO is the better MUA. One reason to prefer Claws over
Evolution is especially important when using Ubuntu (flavours). Claws
has got no critical dependencies and could be build even from git,
while Evolution depends on much of the GNOME framework. Evolution from
official Ubuntu repositories was several times completely unusable and
there was no chance to build Evolution, resp. dependencies from upstream
to fix the issue for Ubuntu (flavours). One drawback of both, Evolution
and Claws compared to Thunderbird concerns HTML users. Neither
Evolution, nor Claws might satisfy the needs of HTML users, but I have
to admit I never used a HTML plugin for Claws. Anyway, Evolution by
default provides to edit crippled HTML mails and AFAIK there's no
plugin to get enhanced HTML abilities. Both, Evolution and Claws allow
to use an external editor, perhaps this might help HTML users.
