I suspect this includes shared libraries, so that sonames might differ
between Ubuntu and Mint, IOW applications provided by Ubuntu and by
Mint packages could be the same versions of software, but link against
different versions of libraries. Those apps even might be build from the
same Ubuntu source packages, but they were build against different
libraries. If so, troubleshooting Mint issues on an Ubuntu mailing list
would be absurd.
