It could happen that we humans sometimes send a request to the wrong
list, but usually we don't do it again and again. Cross posting to
several lists sometimes could be ok too. Usually not only upstream asks
packagers, but users send requests to include software too, by using the
appropriated channels.

It's strange that the OPs request is to get it packaged for 15.10 [1].
Why not simply ask to get it into the official repositories for the
next releases? Why should we vote on Facebook?

It's not an arbitrary supposition, that are just questions.

When I saw similar hurriedness on physicists forums for other things,
there usually was something fishy.

Here and now perhaps everything is ok.
