It is installed where you told it to install, i.e. if you run "wish
./build.tk" you get the option to select the install directories. These
directories default to "/usr/local/bin" and "/usr/local/man". You should
find the program there unless you have changed the install directories.
For your convenience, here is a list of the installed files for the
default locations:

/usr/local/bin/remind
/usr/local/bin/rem2ps
/usr/local/bin/tkremind
/usr/local/bin/cm2rem.tcl
/usr/local/bin/rem
/usr/local/man/man1/rem2ps.1
/usr/local/man/man1/remind.1
/usr/local/man/man1/tkremind.1
/usr/local/man/man1/cm2rem.1
/usr/local/man/man1/rem.1

Well, it wasn't installed with apt-get etc. and therefore it isn't known
to the package database and couldn't be found.
