A lot of the annoying bugs in the version in 15.04 have been fixed now
in 15.10. The Xubuntu dev team also has a PPA that is quite frequently
updated.

SpaceFM has more advanced features, though, and is much better if you
want to customize it. The scripting support is just excellent.

(Like Ralf, I prefer SpaceFM, but Thunar is probably more appropriate
for non-technical users. YMMV.)
