One has /home on the boot partition, the other has /home in its own partition
and extra programs. I am trying to get all the stuff I use on OS/2 set up on
Ubuntu so I can switch to Ubuntu. The one with /home on the root partition is
mainly used for education/experimentation and is the partition that works
properly.

Both are connected to my LAN.

I booted the system and started Firefox then copied syslog from the start of
the boot to the end of the syslog. Part of the difference is that Firefox is
trying to check the plugins because Firefox has been updated (the partition
that is working has already completed the check).

If you want to see the syslog copies I have where can I upload them?

The system that fails has the following which is not in the other.
