installing steam games on second drive

I'm trying to install games via Steam onto my second SSD. I have 2 drives. Ubuntu 14.04 (64-bit) and my apps are all installed on one drive. I want to install the steam games on the other drive (both are 128 GB SSD) but steam says the other drive/folder must have execute permissions. I formatted it using gparted and I've tried different file systems like ext4 and NTFS but nothing seems to help. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
