lspci should return a result if the card is on a system bus.

Can you verify the output of "lspci | grep Ethernet"? You should have
two lines that include "Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5721 Gigabit
Ethernet PCIe".

Are the only two Ethernet ports in the system on the mainboard, or are
there any in the expansion slot area?

I would also verify that the ports have not been disabled in the BIOS.
On PowerEdges, this is usually found underneath the "Integrated
Devices" section of the BIOS.
