15.04 openvpn blocks login

hi there,
I installed ubuntu 15.04.
In /etc/openvpn I have a conf file, that should start an openvpn session 
automatically.
It wants a password, to unlock its key.
Now ubuntu seems to wait for the the password but does not issue a prompt.
There seems to be no way to either enter the password or make it fail and go on.

any suggestion ho to fix this?
