Duplicated syslog message

Hello guys,

Just writing in case any of you can explain a weird duplicated log entry
in my syslog file.

Yesterday as usual rsyslog ran and appended the line
Sep 15 13:55:45 <hostname> rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd"
swVersion="7.4.4" x-pid="601" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] rsyslogd
was HUPed

To the log file and swapped out the file as usual.

The next day when I turned on the computer I found these 3 lines at the
point the computer had shut down the previous day:
Sep 15 13:55:45 <hostname> rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd"
swVersion="7.4.4" x-pid="601" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] rsyslogd
was HUPed
Sep 15 23:50:50 <hostname> rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd"
swVersion="7.4.4" x-pid="601" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] exiting
on signal 15.
Sep 16 13:48:08 <hostname> rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd"
swVersion="7.4.4" x-pid="583" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] start

As you see the first entry is the exact same as the previous entry with
the same time stamp, but it got appended to the log file just before the
computer was shut down.
What could have caused that?

~Nick
