Linux is not good for Desktop

One slight comment on this, although I do agree 'in general'. (I have been
using Linux more or less from the beginning, many years ago)
I am not sure how the support for the 'all-in-one' printers is from other
brands, but the support from (and for) Canon devices is not very good.
I own a Pixma MG5250 printer and *have* to use the rather old software from
Canon. If I not had been an experienced Linux user I would surely not have
succeeded in printing or scanning.
And the scanning, using the scangearmp software is very limited.
The standard Linux/UBUNTU scanner software doesnt even notice the
scanner.... (I would be very happy if somebody could tell me I am wrong
here...)
But despite this I have been using Linux (mainly Ubuntu) as the only
Operating system on the computers in my home.
