Vinny, you are clearly very new to Ubuntu. You joined the list and
immediately starting shouting about how great it was and how much you
loved it.

That's good, but we know that, it's why we use it.

And you don't get to complain or criticise about the way that the
*free help and assistance* that is given to you here is delivered.
It's free. Take it or leave it, but don't bitch about it.

You don't yet know how to use Ubuntu or Linux in general. You only
know the Windows ways of doing things. Now, Windows is not all bad,
but it has some terrible flaws. One of those problems is that by
default on a standalone machine, on NT up to XP, you always run as the
Administrator. It's a disastrous mistake and it's one of the main
reasons that Windows has so many viruses and so on.

Now, we don't expect you to know that up front. But when someone - a
professional who does this for money - takes time out of their day to
try to help you and to explain how things work, you don't get to bitch
and whine and tell them that they are wrong.

The designers of Linux and of Ubuntu know much more about this than
you do. Their decisions are right. Your uninformed opinions are not.

A few days ago, you were proclaiming how much you loved Ubuntu. Now,
you're bitching that it's broken and should work the way that you want
it to, even though it's been doing great for a decade now and has tens
of millions of happy users.

Well, tough. You're wrong. If you were paying me for my help, which
you are welcome to do - I charge UKĀ£75/hr or part thereof, plus travel
- then I will be very polite and supportive and never tell you that
you are being foolish.

But you're not paying. I'm doing this for nothing.

So can your complaints. I know more about this than you do, and if you
see that as me having a big ego, then you need to readjust your
preconceptions. I am trying to help a total stranger out of the
kindness of my heart and I don't appreciate being told off for doing
so.
