Most Recent Kernel Update Makes Machine Unusable

Looking at those links seem to only suggest going back to
2.6.32-60-generic (which I have done).

Maybe I could re-install 10.04, but for various reasons that isn't feasible.

Any other ideas/actions?  Maybe someone will post a corrected kernel?
