k, I have a full installation of Ubuntu now.
I still don't have any audio.
The built in speakers on my laptop work fine until I plug in my computer
speakers to the external speaker jack.
Nothing is wired differently than it was when everything worked
perfectly on windows.
I tried to find information on my sound card and came up with this.
Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RS690 HDMI Audio
[Radeon Xpress 1200 Series]
I don't know if that is the info needed or not.
In system settings in "sound" nothing is muted, volume is up.
I am clueless.
It seems the audio stops as soon as it detects that I plug in external
speakers.
Any Ihelp isIn sound settings mute the microphone appreciated.
In sound settings make sure the microphone is muted (in some distros this is automatic to avoid feedback), and check that the master and headphone channels are up.
