Flash in Ubuntu

I am a total new user with Linux.

I am trying to get away from the windows operating systems.
I am running Ubuntu on a USB flash drive to see if I can figure it out.

Everything seems great so far with one exception. No flash.

Everything I do on line requires flash.  Even my own website uses flash 
applets.

I can not live without flash.

How can I get flash to work on Ubuntu?

What type information do I need to provide about my system to get 
suggestions?
