Reinstalling 10.04

I know it's way out of date, but I need an application that doesn't run on
12.04.  They are supposed to be back on track by 14.04.

It was installed as a dual boot w/ Windows XP with Ubuntu inside the
Windows ntfs partition.  But, I can't find my way to this option in the
10.04 installer.  I know I have stumbled into it in the past and used it.
 But now the closest I can get (sometimes) is to install them side by side,
but this wants to resize the existing ntfs partition, but fails.
 Fortunately it doesn't trash the existing ntfs partition.  I can still
reboot to Windows or Ubuntu from hard disk, or boot the Live CD, but I
can't get to the install option I need.
