Can't adjust launcher icon size

FWIW I cut and pasted the above command in a terminal and got this 
error: dconf key must not end with a slash.  Fixed that and the command 
ran without errors, however the size of the icons on the launcher did 
not change on my 12.04 system.  I shut down every night so I'll see what 
happens tomorrow when I boot up.
