though I block flash, I still have the problem. What's the difference 
between flashblock and prebar?

Updating did not go from Mint 16 - Petra (which I have), to Mint 17.   I 
am in the process of reinstalling using Mint 17.  Once I am done with 
that, I intend to try prebar.
