Keyboard won't accept input

Im a bit late on this thread but, I had this same problem starting
a few Ubuntu releases back. It left me stranded. I would turn
off the computer and it would work fine up until the moment it
did not.

I eventually replaced my Logiech mouse with a new one and the
USB receiver and/or my microsoft usb receiver was the issue.
My keyboard quit working and I threw away a mouse when it
had issues and Ive never had a problem again.
