When you run firefox you should see it appear in the Unity Launcher,
then you right click it there. You are using Unity are you not? We
all assume so since you have not said that you are using anything
other than the default desktop manager. If you are actually running
Kubuntu or Mate or something else then we will not be able to help
unless you tell us.
