look at the bottom, the global search searches everything (the home
icon), online sourcesm files, folders, apps, online music, youtube
videos, amazon, wikipedia  ... 

if you click the little A next to the "home" icon it only searches in
apps ...

yes, in the privacy settings in system-settings ... under "search" you
can restrict the global search to local only ...
