You should be able to do that, but you will not be able to boot into
Linux until you reinstall the Linux boot, which you can do from the live
disk you installed Linux from.
I just had to do that with Windows 8, and then upgrade (again) to 8.1.
It's a PITA, and time consuming, but no problem otherwise.
