You're going to want a AHCI compliant SATA card for the greatest
chance of reliability. For example, the SIIG SC-SA0R11-S1 uses the
Marvell 88SE9230 (a very common) chipset.
Support for this chipset should work right out of the box with the
generic "ahci" driver.
