Could well be a scam, nothing but fancy pictures on a website, and 
links to organisations (such as the "royal international society for the 
advancement of telecommunications", lol, never heard of a "royal" 
society that is international before) that always seem to end up at the 
same people. Several sites reported the news of a solar powered laptop, 
but none seem to have dug really deep into technology or feasibility of 
it all. Nobody will own it b/c it is not for sale yet, or even sent to 
reviewers, according to that website.


But why do you care?


Just buy any normal laptop, and chances are Ubuntu will run fine on it. 
Ask for advice here before buying if you want to make sure it will work.
