13.10 freeze?

Hello,

Around 2 am CDT ( Central Daylight Time) I was talking to a friend on
facebook in Firefox and I had VLC player going and was installing LM
Sensors in terminal when everything just STOPPED the computer got like
real slow I mean I would move the mouse and it would take 45 sec before
it responded to what I was clicking on and the dialog boxes would very
slowly come on to the screen and finally I got firefox and dropbox
closed but it was still very very slow so I had to finally power off and
back on.
