Installing Guest Additions on Windows 8 (host) Ubuntu 12.04.4 (Guest)

Hello,
I have VirtualBox running Ubuntu 12.04.4 (guest) on a Windows 8 (host). I installed the Guest Additions and it was running initially but after I Ubuntu updates it stopped working. I also tried to uninstall the guest additions and reinstalling it but it did not work too. Could you please help solve this problem.
