Why has ClamAV just been installed on my 12.10 system?

In Edit-->Preferences-->Security-->Anti-virus there is a checkbox for 
Allow anti-virus clients to quarantine incoming individual messages.

I don't have any anti-virus clients and have not tried it so I don't 
what beyond checking that box that you need to do to set it up.
