Printers and Scanners for Ubuntu (12.04, or 13.04)

Thanks all for all the replies!

I am going to be testing an HP Officejet 8600... next week. I will be
able to test it over network and USB. Scanner and printer. Duplex.
Individual cartridges...

Looks like a promissing candidate!
