Your SATA cable may be the blame as well. Unplug it from the MoBo and 
the drive. Plug it back into both, making sure you are using connector 
zero (or #1) at the MoBo. The connection is sloppy compared to the old 
IDE connector. Mine will give me a fit at least twice a year. Doing just 
this puts it right. Ric
