on returning to ubuntu 12.04 from windows the display mangnification goes larger

Ric,
The ubuntu computer is Dell Inspiron 660 and the windows computer is 
Inspiron 660s.
I have driver CDs for each one.
Do I just load the appropriate CD on startup of each computer?
